(NOT) MY BROWN-EYED BOY....

The brown-eyed boy who had colours rolled up in his sleeve
Told me to plunge in the sand and shuffle my black & grey dreams

It scared me to hold his foreign hands in gloves
And now it pricks like the Albatross!

I foresaw the tomorrow that was not to be
Clutched and clung on to the rusty leaves.
He spread his arms across the starry sky

And coloured it with the promise of a good-bye
Perfumed it with chocolaty spices and the dreary sun
And held my hand through the deeds undone!

It isn’t enough to just hug and hide
Lost in the embrace of the warmth that’s wild
Fragrance exudes on my chin, my pride

Am I using you to forget what wasn’t mine?

I want to hold on, I want to let go
I am waiting for the blackened snow
To turn me into someone I’m not
Or give me some wings to fly
With the tears that I fought!!
